Captcha’s are a web derived development in the class of reverse Turing tests. I was recently surveying the field and ran across reCAPTCHA, it has the interesting properties of being:
- By definition not machine readable
- Useful to human kind as it gets used
Very clever of the designers, I especially appreciate the second property: more things should exhibit it.
